Type: Darshan Dwar Phulkari - translates to "the gate that offers a view of the deity." This specific genre features distinct architectural frameworks mimicking the arched gateways or pillared corridors of temples and shrines.
Age & Origin: 70-100 years old, from Doaba Region (Jalandhar–Kapurthala, Punjab)
Fabric & Thread: Made on Khaddar cotton using bright Pat silk threads
Technique: Handmade with the darning stitch from the back side, using careful thread counting for precise embroidery.
Pattern Used: The central field is organized into distinct vertical panels or "corridors" separated by embroidered architectural borders. Within these columns are repeating, stylized linear motifs resembling stylized oil lamps (diyas) or floral sprouts stacked vertically.
Special Feature: As a Bagh Phulkari, the embroidery almost completely covers the base fabric, creating a rich, vibrant, and detailed handcrafted appearance.
